Prototype is a wine with a fresh overall fruit character, but with tarter finish. Even the color is surprisingly light and brilliant. The aromas combine a mix of juicy and fresh, little, concentrated berries. On the palate, it’s tasteful, soft and light. I’d say it’s closer to a Grenache than a zinfandel in style. There’s…

Beatty ranch Zinfandel is a structured, layered, absolutely complex and developing wine. This comes from a selection of the best barrels of Zinfandel from some of the oldest vines of the appellation. Its dark profile is syrupy while providing hints of leather, roasted coffee, cinnamon & cardamom. The structure is definitely grippy and grainy with…

This wine has a strong difference between the nose and the palate. From the very perfumed and delicate aromas coming through, it’s hard to anticipate the concentrated, rich and full-bodied taste. Bramble & very dark fruits pie filling makes up most of the flavors, but some sweet spices from the American oak and a savory…

This wine as the deepest of color and the deepest of bouquet. The intense aromas include overripe blackberries and wild berries as well as licorice and a sweet touch of brown sugar. The palate is succulent and supple with a soft touch in terms of texture. The very limited sweetness level is quite apparent and…

First impression was a little straightforward, but then comes a bright red cherry kick. It’s classic and almost balanced overall except for the warm touch of alcohol. This wine boasts bold flavors and a graceful, rich mouth feel. While quite timid on the nose, the palate is the exact opposite, extremely juicy and explosive. The…

Intensely jammy with strong aromas of blueberry pie filing and intense wood fire. It’s like a barbecue in there. Within the density of the aromas, there’s still a hint of tartness that lifts up the overall intensity. The palate is large and bold, definitely full-bodied. The heaviness almost puts pressure instead of texture on your…

Very dark in color with a fine nose of red fruits, bramble, bark as well as a sweet caramel note. The palate gets smoky with a lead of vanilla and a warm alcohol embrace. It’s definitely powerful and wide.

As deep as it can get, the lytton spring is the very definition of maturity of fruits. The complexity is all based on different fruit character from red to dark black, from fresh to jammy. It is loyal and truthful to the varietal style, but it’s also pushing its limits. On the palate, you can…

This wine is very expressive with mostly under ripe, tart cherries aroma at first. With a little whiff of air, it will disclose an interesting smoky and meaty side. The palate is thick in every aspect with a strong boldness and very apparent oakiness, not so integrated.

This wine is dense, thick and filled with concentration, but very finely structured. The tannins are soft and the body is not overwhelming. It boasts with empyreumatic aromas of cocoa, espresso and smoke, but also have very noticeable oak character. Licorice and clove come along for the finale that is decent.
