The wine shows a vivid ruby colour with a brightening rim. The nose is dense, reductive, needs aeration before the service. The wine opens up with nuances of fresh blackberries and bramble, a hint of violets, delicate nuances of liquorice and fresh black pepper. The palate is juicy, very youthful, showing sticky but well-managed tannins, moderate acidity, a distinct bitter note in the aftertaste. The palate mirrors the nose with notes of black forest berries and smoke. Moderate length.
