Terre di San Felice 2020 – Montefalco DOC

The nose is on the fruit. It reveals notes of ripe blue plum, pulpy/juicy cherry and small notes of roasted small fruits associated with slight touches of crème de cassis as well as slight hints of liquorice/star anise and a subtle hint of camphor (background). The palate is fruity and offers minerality, freshness, a small tension, a certain energy, a small sapidity as well as a fine (and good) bitterness which coats/leads the tasting. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of black cherry, pulpy blue plum and small notes of creamy blackcurrant combined with a touch of roasted small fruits, local violets/flowers and a hint of star anise. Tannins are supple and sapid. Good sapid persistence.
