The wine has a pale ruby color with slight garnet reflections. The first nose expresses a smoky (even slightly meaty) aroma, which is then complemented by notes of sweet spices (nutmeg, white pepper, liquorice, toasted vanilla in the background), flowers (dried rose, lilac) and aromatic herbs (rosemary, dried mint), a mineral touch (limestone), combined with fresh and tangy fruits (raspberry, blueberry, morello cherry, wild blackberry, a touch of cranberries and bergamot). The palate is straight, chiseled, with a silky tannin structure, but quite firm, and juiciness of fruit. It expresses notes of raspberry, wild strawberry, crushed blueberry, morello cherry and tart red cherry, as well as good bitterness and a subtly smoky hint of bergamot, notes of torrefaction (coffee, toasted hazelnut), dark chocolate, sweet spices (liquorice, nutmeg, white pepper in the background), aromatic herbs (rosemary, dried mint) and a touch of fresh flowers (peony, dried rose). The finish is persistent, sapid and expresses a beautiful fine, but firm tannin structure and lively acidity.
