Michel Girault, La Prunelière 2022 – Sancerre

Michel Girault, La Prunelière 2022 – Sancerre

The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose offers accuracy, a textured and tannic nuance in its aromas, as well as a pleasant sweet touch. It expresses the aromas of juicy morello cherry, red cherry jam, fresh blackcurrant, as well as wild blackberry, damson plum, red plum and raspberry. There is also a very slight hint of prunes, plum pit, licorice, pine bark, dry pine needles, cumin in the background, as well as a sweet hint of plum in chocolate, iris and peony. The palate is dense and tannic, but airy at the same time. It expresses the flavors of fresh blackcurrant, morello cherry, bigarreau cherry, crushed raspberry, cranberries, quetsche plum, tangy red plum, as well as blackcurrant leaf, dry pine needles, stalk, a tannic hint of bird cherry, as well as violet and rose petals. The finish offers sapidity, juiciness, an enveloping and tight texture, without being drying. The tannins are solid and structured. Beautiful acidity and a good savoury persistence.
