A lovely pulpy nose, which offers concentration in its fruit, deep black fruit, a lovely precise grain, notes of small dense black berries, violet and more slightly – blackberry associated with fine hints of fresh/fleshy cherry and has fine hints of zan, flowers and a subtle almost noble rooty hint. The palate is fruity and offers juiciness, sauvity, straightness, a sharp side, tension and accuracy, a tangy frame, and a lovely burst of fruit. It expresses notes of bright blackcurrant, juicy/pulpy blackberry and more slightly – bright red plum, associated with a touch of small pulpy red fruits as well as fine hints of purple plum quetsche, liquorice stick, lily, cornflower and racy minerality. The finish offers a subtle hint of camphor and dried almond. Good length, nicely soft and savoury tannins. Nice roundness, notes of zan and tobacco in the mouth. A subtle, almost cypress-like pite, very discreet in the background. Sapid finish.
