The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose is reserved at first, but opens up after aeration. We first smell a smoky, even meaty hint, which is then complemented by aromas of roasted herbs (roasted bouquet garni, roasted rosemary), fresh and roasted fruits – roasted red cherry, roasted strawberry, fresh morello cherry, blackcurrant (even blackcurrant jam), black plum (with a hint of prunes), as well as fresh almond, cherry stone (in the background), lily and violet. We also find a spicy touch of liquorice and nutmeg, associated with a hint of dark chocolate in the background. The palate is enveloping, fresh, with accuracy, straightforwardness and a ripe and tangy fruity material. It expresses notes of sour red cherry, morello cherry, roasted red cherry, blackcurrant, black plum and bird cherry, combined with touches of liquorice, nutmeg, aromatic herbs (roasted bouquet garni, fresh rosemary), violet and lilac. The finish is tasty, tangy and expresses the tannic and slightly bitter hint of bird cherry. Beautiful firm tannic structure, with tight, gourmand and enveloped tannins.
