The wine has a deep ruby color. The nose is dense, concentrated, complex, but requires aeration to open up. It then expresses pleasant spicy notes with a touch of menthol (liquorice, cardamom), associated with a fresh and airy herbaceous hint (peppermint, fresh tea leaf, a very slight hint of rose stem and blackcurrant bud), as well as a fresh and tangy fruitiness (bigarreau cherry, blackcurrant, morello cherry, blueberry, wild blackberry, fresh raspberry, tangy strawberry), dark chocolate and a slight toasted and woody note (toasted hazelnut, fresh wood, a sappy hint). The palate is dense, tight, concentrated and enveloping (but not completely open), but airy, with a fresh and tangy fruity material and a firm but velvety tannic structure. It expresses notes of morello cherry, black plum, blackberry, blackcurrant, as well as red cherry, ripe strawberry and raspberry coulis in the background, combined with notes of sweet spices (liquorice, cardamom, a hint of toasted vanilla and white pepper), delicate but perceptible hint of roasting (toasted hazelnut, toasted bitter almond, a hint of fresh wood and sap), as well as herbs (fresh and dried tea leaf, dried peppermint, dried blackcurrant leaf, a hint of tobacco) and the bitterness of dark chocolate and coffee. The finish is savory, rich, concentrated, with a nice acidity. A wine with good development potential, but not yet opened.
