Franco Mondo, le rose 2021 – Nizza

Franco Mondo, le rose 2021 – Nizza

The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The first nose is tasty, spicy, toasted and slightly smoky. We first smell notes of liquorice (even reminiscent of star anise), nutmeg, ground cumin, toasted hazelnut as well as aromatic herbs (rosemary, thyme, bay leaf, fresh tobacco, mint) and a delicate resinous hint (pine needles, a touch of pine bark). The fruity material is fresh, gourmet and concentrated, with a beautiful tangy freshness. We find the aromas of ripe blackcurrant, morello cherry, wild blackberry, dried red cherry and crushed raspberry, associated with a gourmet hint of mint chocolate, as well as a delicate minerality, which appears after aeration. The palate offers concentration in freshness, a fresh and juicy fruity material (blackberry, blackcurrant, morello cherry, red cherry, ripe raspberry, blueberry), delicate herbaceous notes (rosemary, thyme, bay leaf, peppermint), sweet spices (licorice, nutmeg, cumin, white pepper), a good bitterness of dark chocolate and a fine mineral side on the persistence. The tannins are sapid, cocoa-like and solid. Beautiful salivating acidity and a good length.
