Domaine Petitot – Les Monts de Boncourt 2016 – Côte de Nuits-Villages

The nose is aromatic, (very) slightly tight and offers elegance. The wine needs to be decanted. It reveals notes of cherry, wild raspberry and crushed redcurrants combined with fine touches of cassis, violet, licorice, spices as well as a hint of Sichuan pepper. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, racy, well built and offers a good definition, fleshiness, a fine unctuosity, a small tension, a fine acid frame, a fine aerial side, a small freshness as well as a small gourmandise. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy raspberry, crushed redcurrants and small notes of cassis associated with small touches of cherry, rose / cassis bud as well as discreet hints of zan and an imperceptible touch of tobacco. Tannins are well-built. Good length.
