Château Roc de Calon 2022 – Montagne Saint-Emilion

Château Roc de Calon 2022 – Montagne Saint-Emilion

The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The first nose is chiseled, herbaceous and fruity. It expresses aromas of blackcurrant leaf, fresh tobacco, mint and fresh pine needles, combined with a touch of violet and fresh, ripe fruits (blackcurrant, morello cherry, bigarreau cherry, roasted raspberry, strawberry and cranberry jam in the background). After aeration, we sense notes of sweet spices (white pepper, liquorice, a touch of nutmeg), as well as a very light toasted touch and dark chocolate. The palate is silky and juicy, with polished and melted tannins, even slightly cocoa-flavored. It expresses the flavors of morello cherry, crushed blackcurrant, wild blackberry, roasted bigarreau cherry, fresh red cherry and crunchy strawberry, associated with notes of liquorice, nutmeg, bitter cocoa, toast, as well as blackcurrant leaf, dried pine needles and violet in the background. The finish is finely tight, sapid, with gourmand notes of ripe morello cherry and a good bitterness of bird cherry.
