Château Desmirail 2023– Margaux, Cru Classé

The nose is fruity and offers a certain concentration, a fine intensity, harmony, depth. It expresses notes of blackberry, violet and more slightly – pulpy raspberry, associated with touches of lily, pulpy cherry, as well as fine hints of racy minerality, gray pepper, roasting. The palate is fruity and offers juiciness, suavity, a mineral frame, good definition, a certain juiciness, energy. It expresses notes of juicy/pulpy blackberry, juicy/pulpy cherry and more slightly – fresh plum, associated with touches of tangy/fleshy raspberry as well as fine floral hints, pulpy/bright redcurrants and a discreet hint of tobacco and racy minerality. A good job on the good bitters (notably cocoa) on the finish. A discreet firmness on the finish/persistence. Silky, juicy and gourmand. A subtle hint of Cabernet Franc comes at the end of the mouth, bringing silkiness and gourmandise.
