(from century-old Grenache vines) The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. On the nose, it is reserved, but expresses itself after aeration. We first smell the distinct spicy notes (cumin, clove, nutmeg), associated with a touch of integrated roasting (coffee, toasted almond), as well as a hint of balsamic and a menthol side (dried mint, rosemary, licorice, even star anise in the background). The fruits on the nose are ripe, fresh and roasted: we find crushed strawberry, roasted red cherry, crushed blackcurrant, juicy black plum, blackberry and blackberry cream, associated with a smoky hint and a sweet touch of caramel and chocolate. On the palate, the wine offers an airy side in the material and concentration. The attack is juicy, fruity, with a slight bitterness and notes of fresh red cherry, morellocherry, strawberry, blackberry and black plum. The mid-palate is tangy, slightly herbaceous (rosemary, roasted thyme), and the finish is rather spicy and toasted (on notes of liquorice, cumin, clove and the good bitterness of toasted almond). The tannins are tight, cocoa and sapid, but grippy and a little grainy. Good persistence on the acidity of the fruit.
