Castiglion del Bosco Millecento 2019 – Brunello di Montalcino Riserva

Castiglion del Bosco Millecento 2019 – Brunello di Montalcino Riserva

The nose is savory, slightly tertiary (with aromas of tobacco, dried leaves and undergrowth in the background). It also expresses a savory hint of roasted herbs (thyme, rosemary, bay leaf), and a refreshing touch of fresh herbs (a hint of peppermint), as well as notes of sweet spices (licorice, nutmeg, very slight hint of vanilla, cardamom) and roasted and macerated fruits (roasted red cherry, crushed strawberry), balanced by notes of fresh fruits (black plum, blackberry, morello cherry, hint of blueberry). The palate is savory, with a chocolatey attack, which is then complemented by flavors of roasted strawberry, crushed strawberry, roasted cherry, blackberry, black plum and morello cherry. We also find tertiary notes of tobacco, undergrowth, dry leaves in the background, sweet spices (liquorice, cardamom, a hint of vanilla and nutmeg), as well as the good bitterness of roasting (coffee, toasted almond) and a hint of dried laurel. The tannins are tight, but gourmand and sapid, fine and chocolatey. Good persistence on a salivating acidity and a hint of chocolate.
