The wine has a deep ruby color. The nose offers depth, a textured touch, complexity and delicacy. It expresses savoury herbaceous and toasted notes at the beginning (dried rosemary, dried bay leaf, peppermint, dried menthol, toasted bread, toasted hazelnut), complemented by a racy minerality (dry stone, a very light touch of tar, a hint of limestone and saline). We find a ripe, fresh and tangy fruitiness: aromas of red cherry, morello cherry, raspberry, blackcurrant, bird cherry, dried cranberries, as well as a floral finish (violet, cornflower, wild rose), spicy (liquorice, crushed cardamom), toasted and chocolatey (toasted hazelnut, dark chocolate, a tangy hint of cocoa nibs). The palate is enveloping, textured, solid, while remaining refined and airy. The attack expresses a firm structure of tannins with their bitterness (in the notes of bird cherry, coffee and cocoa), complemented by a tangy and juicy fruity material (red cherry, tangy black plum, blackcurrant, bigarreaux cherry, dried blueberry), a savoury spiciness (liquorice, cardamom, toasted coriander seeds, a hint of nutmeg and white pepper), as well as herbaceous and floral notes (peppermint, tobacco, dried cornflower, violet, wild rose), a tertiary hint (tobacco, undergrowth in the background) and toasted notes (toasted bread, toasted hazelnut). The finish is persistent, on a good bitterness and smokiness of bergamot and bird cherry, as well as with a salivating acidity that softens the tight tannins. Complexity, a solid structure and good potential.
