Banfi Poggio alle Mura 2022 – Rosso di Montalcino

The nose is open, fruity, ripe, with tension and a nice concentration. It expresses notes of juicy wild strawberry, crushed morello cherry and raspberry coulis. After aeration, it offers peppery, spicy notes (liquorice, gray pepper) with a hint of Mediterranean herbaceousness (rosemary, dried thyme), as well as a gravelly and mineral touch, dried flowers (rose) and dried bouquet garni, coffee, toasted almond. The palate is fresh, tense, enveloping and tangy. It expresses notes of fresh fruit (wild strawberry, crushed morello cherry, raspberry) and harmoniously integrated herbaceous notes (fresh thyme, dried mint, bouquet garni), as well as a fine toasted touch and coffee in the background. Beautiful acidity and persistence, juiciness, the tannins are silky.
