The nose offers a bouquet of red raspberry, cherry, olive leaf, juniper and herbs. A well-structured body and dense tannin, softened by the pulpy fresh fruit offers a drink that is as enveloping as it is agile. The officinal and fruity components linger in the lengthy finale.
In 2009, Christian Plattner, oenologist and owner, planted age-old schiava varieties, thus giving new life to ancient vines dating back to the time of his great-grandparents, in the cru Hohe Leiten vineyard on sandy and gravelly soils of glacial origin with residual porphyritic soil. The estate, which dates back to 1242 and was taken over in 1926 by the Plattner family, extends over approximately 7 hectares of vineyards.
