San Polino 2012 – Brunello di Montalcino Riserva

San Polino 2012 – Brunello di Montalcino Riserva

The nose is refined, delicately tertiary in its aromas of undergrowth and dried leaves that appear at the beginning. Then, it expresses notes of dried mint, fresh liquorice, juicy morello cherry, crushed wild strawberry, blackberry, dried raspberry, cranberry jam, as well as dark chocolate with mint, chocolate cherry, dried plum and fresh flowers (violet, lilac). The palate is youthful, chiseled and offers a lot of energy. We find the flavors of morello cherry, red cherry with chocolate, crushed raspberry, dried raspberry, wild strawberry, a good bitterness of bird cherry, coffee and cocoa, as well as notes of dried mint, lilac and a tertiary hint of undergrowth, dried leaves and sweet tobacco. Good persistence on a pleasant bitterness and a racy minerality. Lots of energy and freshness.
