The nose is aromatic, minty, but after aeration, it becomes spicy and fruity. It first expresses notes of fresh liquorice, pine and menthol, then complemented by aromas of dried peppermint, black fruits (blackcurrant, morello cherry, blueberry), red cherry, as well as flowers (lily, rose), cocoa, tangy cocoa nibs. The tannins are tight, cocoa-like and slightly bitter, sapid and enveloped. The palate offers accuracy, straightness, a juicy and tangy fruity material (we find in particular the flavors of morello cherry, blueberry, red cherry, blackberry and bird cherry), as well as a racy minerality (limestone and dry stone) and savoury spicy and chocolatey nuances (liquorice, cardamom, cocoa nibs). A solid, yet elegant structure, with complexity and terroir typicality in this wine.
