Breaux Vineyards – 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve – Virginia

The nose is spicy, smoky and finely peppery. It reveals notes of blackberry, tobacco and small notes of quite ripe small black fruits associated with a touch of kirsch cherry as well as fine hints of almost fig, camphor and smoke. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers suavity, roundness, a small fat, a fine unctuousity, tension as well as a small linear/stretched side. On the palate this wine expresses notes of creamy blackberry, crushed cassis and small notes of smoke, tobacco associated with touches of tonka bean, fig as well as a subtle hint of jammy redcurrants, fine hints of clove and spices. Tannins are sapid and mellow. Beautiful minerality and freshness.
