Château Rabaud-Promis 2022 – Sauternes, Premier Grand Cru Classé

The nose is fruity, aromatic and offers a certain small power, a small concentration as well as a beautiful fresh, frank, racy and elegant grain. Full of precision. We find notes of quince, kumquat and small notes of bright white peach associated with fine almost roasted/raisined hints, hints of crystallized green apple, ginger, sweet pepper as well as fine hints of verbena, acacia, a subtle hint of fresh honey and nutmeg. The palate is beautifully built, supple, suave, fat (but full of control/precision, without heaviness), tracing as well as beautiful balanced/airy. Beautiful brightness. A spherical, round and fat side but all in accuracy and finesse. Complexity. On the palate this wine expresses notes of candied quince, candied lemon and small notes of candied kumquat associated with touches of pineapple in syrup, pear in syrup as well as fine hints of roasted fruit, hints of racy minerality/sense of place (warm gravel), honey, pâtisseries, a hint of brioche, verbena.
