The nose is fine and fresh with a first note of cinnamon. Little by little, touches of grain as well as peat appear. There is a tangy, smoky nose, truly finesse with a hint of salt. Alcohol is not aggressive. The palate is fresh, powerful with a nice acidity. There are notes of peat and smoke as well as leather. We also perceive nice touches of citrus. The finale develops, it’s long, it stretches. The alcohol is strong on the palate but gives way to more sweetness on the finish. We have notes of orange but also of cooked apple with a hint of lemon zest. We still have this peaty, almost mineral, even saline side until the finish which concludes with a hint of astringency. The warmth of the alcohol is comforting right down to the chest. This is a sipping whisky.
