Michel Vattan « B.C » 2020 – Sancerre

The wine has a bright ruby color, of medium intensity. The nose is expressive, aromatic, slightly macerated and balsamic. We find notes of macerated red cherry, crushed strawberry, blackcurrant, crunchy black plum, blackberry and raspberry coulis, as well as a distinct touch of violet, wild rose and peony. After aeration, we find herbaceous (crushed peppermint, blackcurrant bud) and spicy (liquorice, cardamom) touches, as well as a hint of fresh hazelnut. Beautiful complexity and airiness in the aromatic. The palate is juicy, tangy and offers a beautiful freshness of fruit and airiness, associated with a solid structure. We find notes of bird cherry with its tannic touch and a slight bitterness, dried morello cherry, tangy bigarreau cherry, blackcurrant, blackberry, raspberry and blueberry, as well as violet, rose and peony. The herbal and spicy notes are enveloping and refreshing – there are hints of blackcurrant leaf, peppermint, pine needles, liquorice and cardamom. The finish is quite persistent, slightly toasted and bitter, with a nice acidity.
