The wine has a bright ruby color, of medium intensity. The nose offers complexity, a certain concentration, as well as fine spicy and woody aromas. It expresses notes of toasted hazelnut, cocoa, toasted wood in the background, as well as liquorice, crushed white pepper and nutmeg. After aeration, we also find notes of dried mint and blackcurrant leaf. The fruity material on the nose is juicy, tangy and enveloping. We find aromas of red cherry, blackcurrant, crushed blackberry, raspberry, fresh strawberry and redcurrant jelly, complemented by a floral hint of violet. The palate is chiseled, lively, with fine, sapid but tight tannins. On the attack, we find the flavors of tangy fruits (bigarreau cherry, bird cherry, blackcurrant, raspberry, strawberry), a touch of dried mint and blackcurrant leaf, as well as violet, associated with a delicate spicy and woody hint, less expressive than on the nose. We find in particular the aromas of bitter cocoa, liquorice, a hint of toasted almond, nutmeg and white pepper. The finish is persistent, juicy, with a salivating acidity and a slight bitterness of bird cherry and cranberries.
