Tenuta Castelbuono, Carapace – Carapace Lungattesa 2017 – Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG

The nose is elegant and offers complexity, a certain intensity and a certain power in mastery, beautifuly precise and defined. Benefits from being carafed. There are notes of bright cherry and roasted-juicy small red fruits associated with slight touches of purple plum, discreet hints of Zan, sweet blond tobacco as wel as a subtle hint of black olive and nutmeg. The mouth is beautifuly supple, suave, fresh, deliacte, harmonious and offers an unctuous and fresh side. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of roasted-juicy cherry, fresh/ acidulous blueberry ans small notes of creamy cassis associated with touches of cornflower, graphite, chocolate, toast as well as a subtle hint of cardamome, a small infusion and bourbon vanilla. Beautiful finish with a subtle varietal hint/ sense of place (local biotop). A very discreet hint of balsamic in the background. Good length. Beautiful acidulous and fresh persistence.
