Tenuta Colsanto 2017 – Montefalco Sagrantino

Tenuta Colsanto 2017 – Montefalco Sagrantino

The nose is fruity and offers power, a certain intensity, a beautiful deepness, a certain finesse and mastery in its power. There are notes of wild cassis, concentrated black plum and small notes of black berries associated with touches of rosemary, bigarreau cherry as well as a very discreet hint of black pepper and an imperceptible almost eucalyptus hint in the background. The mouth is fruity, mineral, fresh and offers a certain tension, precision as well as an acidulous frame. In the mouth this wine epxresses notes of juicy/ pulpy balckberry, concentrated black plum and quite ripe (almost roasted) red berries (a mediterranean side in the fruit) as well as hints of pepper, sligh hints of olive olive tree leaf and balck olive. Beautiful work on the good bitterness. Torrefaction in the background and a small chewy side. A subtile almost camphor hint in the background.
