Château Cailloux de By 2020 – Médoc

The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose offers concentration and a fine sweetness of ripe fruit. It expresses notes of wild strawberry, red cherry jam, morello cherry, blackcurrant, black plum and blackberry, associated with notes of fresh tobacco, licorice stick, clove, cornflower, vanilla and a slight touch of toasted almond in the background. The palate is supple, but fresh and chiseled. It expresses notes of tangy fruit in the attack (red cherry, raspberry, blackcurrant), then complemented by notes of strawberry, morello cherry and blackberry, as well as a fine spiciness (licorice, vanilla, clove), a hint of torrefaction (toasted hazelnut), and floral notes on the finish (violet, cornflower). The finish is sapid and fruity and ends with pleasant flqvours of sweet spices (cloves, cinnamon). Beautiful enveloping tannic structure, with a silky texture. The acidity is fresh and pleasant. A pleasant and balanced wine.
