The nose is intense and offers a powerful, fine and discreetly tight grain. There are notes of crushed strawberry, fairly ripe blackcurrant and slight notes of plum associated with touches of pepper as well as hints of cornflower and Cubebe pepper. The palate is fruity, balanced and offers juiciness, smoothness, a lovely freshness, brightness, a taut tannic structure as well as a spherical side of the material. On the palate this wine expresses notes of luscious violet plum, bright blackberry and small notes of violet associated with touches of bright cherry as well as hints of liquorice/star anise and a fine hint of toast. The tannins are precise and tight. Good length.
