Château de Fonbel 2022 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru

Château de Fonbel 2022 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru

(85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Carménère) Nice nose which offers elegance, intensity, harmonious power, depth, finesse as well as a fine infusion side in its depth. We find notes of concentrated blackberry, small, fairly ripe (but fresh) black fruits and more slightly small wild red fruits associated with a touch of Cuben pepper, violet and star anise. The palate is fresh, straight and delicious and offers minerality, fruit, a certain gourmandise, tension, precision as well as lovely energy. On the palate this wine expresses notes of bright raspberry, small bright red fruits and more slightly bright boysenberry associated with touches of star anise, blueberry, toasted/chocolate and a subtle hint, almost Ceylon tea, in the background. The tannins are supple and precise. Nice freshness.
