Raoul Gautherin & Fils, Vieilles Vignes, Chablis 2021

The wine has a pale lemon color. On the nose, it offers ripe fruit, juiciness and freshness. It expresses notes of ripe stone fruit (yellow peach, apricot), fresh lemon, candied lemon peel, red orange, fresh pineapple, passion fruit, combined with fine touches of vanilla, cloves (in the background), toasted almond, as well as a fragrant floral bouquet (acacia, apple blossom) and fine herbaceous touches (tomato leaf, mint). On the palate, the wine is savoury and expressive. It offers saline and mineral notes on the attack, combined with notes of lemon, red-orange, lime and tangyapricot in the mid-palate. The finish is long and complex: the wine develops and expresses notes of green apple, lime, Williams pear, fresh pineapple, as well as a floral bouquet (acacia, apple blossom). The acidity is lively and salivating. A straight, lively wine, with freshness and a lot of energy. Fine spicy notes (vanilla, clove) and toasted finish.
