R de Reignac 2021 – Bordeaux Supérieur

The nose is elegant, precise and reveals a certain intensity and aromatic purity. Powerful and delicate at the same time. There are notes of bright wild blackcurrant, boysenberry and more lightly Madagascar pepper combined with delicate touches of bright wild raspberry, small berries as well as fine hints of star anise, spice and a very discreet, almost sappy quality. The palate is fruity, balanced and offers juiciness, minerality, good definition, a certain aromatic purity, an acidic backbone, a certain gourmandize, tension in elegance, a nice finesse of the guideline as well as a light airy side in its balance. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackcurrant, cherry and, more slightly, fresh raspberry combined with touches of lily as well as fine hints of dried almond, star anise, a discreet hint of cola, cherry blossom and a subtle hint of vanilla in the background. Good length, sapidity, harmony and gourmandize. The tannins are supple and elegant.
