Château Fonroque – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, Grand Cru Classé

Château Fonroque – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, Grand Cru Classé

The nose is fruity, it offers a certain intensity of fruit, a lovely purity in its definition and a finely tight, velvety and bewitching grain. It reveals notes of cherry, wild raspberry and small notes of cornflower, associated with discreet touches of peony, camphor, as well as subtle hints of clove and an imperceptible hint of dried orange zest in the background. The palate is fruity, mineral, finely tight, juicy, brilliant, it offers a lovely energy, a tangy frame and a fine incisive side in its dynamism. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of juicy/fresh cassis, pulpy/juicy cherry and small notes of blood orange, combined with touches of small ripe red fruits, as well as discreet floral hints and a subtle, almost herpes-like aromatic hint. Good length and definition.
