Château Rabaud-Promis, 1st Grand Cru Classé in Sauternes continues and goes further in its environmental-footprint-reduction policy.

The property, which was already very attentive to the health of its vineyards, created beehives in the vineyard for the preservation of its terroir and carrying a project (to promote biodiversity and pollination) has chosen for the packaging of these wines using funds from the recycling of fallen trees during the Klaus storm (24/01/2009).

An equivalent quality

After Hurricane Klaus the fallen trees slightly turn blue which detract their intrinsic qualities but is enough to be removed from the production of certain products. These new wooden cases are certified PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification).

This storm was a real grief for the Aquitaine forests with winds up in places the 180 km/h caused the collapse of 230,000 hectares of trees and global damage estimated at 5 billion euros.

A good initiative to highlight!
